The official Australian Grand Prix podcast In the Fast Lane has released its latest episode, MotoGP™ race-winner and former World Superbikes Champion, Ben Spies.
Spies joined In the Fast Lane co-host Matt Clayton and Chris Vermeulen to discuss the challenges of having Jorge Lorenzo as a teammate, whether American racers can return to the top and reveals which rider on the MotoGP™ grid impresses him the most.
When discussing his racing career Spies explained that both Lorenzo, who was his former teammate, and Casey Stoner were a class above the rest and Marquez has the same talent as this elite set of riders.
“He (Lorenzo) is on one end of being perfect and Casey Stoner is on the other end of being perfect.” Spies said.
“Him and Casey, they were unbelievable, Valentino and the other guys they were special, and they were fast… but with Jorge and Casey you’d follow them, there are those two or three guys like them or Marquez, that you got back to the pits and say I can’t do that.”
The podcast is available on Spotify, Google Podcasts and Apple Podcasts platforms.
