Jack Miller: "Nothing signed yet" but optimistic

Friday, 16 August 2024

The Aussie has renewed hope.

Jack Miller’s situation seemed desolate before the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

According to him, he hadn’t received a single phone call from the MotoGP™ or WorldSBK paddock during the summer break. However, things have recently begun to look up for the Aussie, with potential opportunities emerging in the past couple of few weeks.

Ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix, Dorna reporter Jack Appleyard interviewed Miller about his future. The Australian responded with cautious optimism.

“[There’s been] some phone calls for sure. I appreciate people reaching out,” Miller said.

“Nothing's signed yet. We’re working on it. I’m definitely more optimistic than I was at Silverstone. But we’ll just have to wait and see, try to work things out.”

Recent reports have linked the Queenslander with a ride at Pramac Yamaha for next year, though this has yet to be confirmed. His experience across KTM, Ducati, and Honda machinery could prove invaluable in helping Yamaha make strides in competitiveness.

One thing is certain: seats on the MotoGP™ grid are quickly filling, with only four spots remaining. A strong performance in Austria could go a long way in helping Miller secure a ride for next year.

The 29-year-old has three podiums to his name at the Red Bull Ring and nearly won the Styrian Motorcycle Grand Prix in 2020.

Meanwhile, fellow Australians Senna Agius, Joel Kelso, and Jacob Roulstone have all secured rides for 2025 in the Moto2™ and Moto3™ categories.
