Five-time World Champion Mick Doohan to lead Homecoming Ride

The calendars of eager MotoGP fans can be marked for Thursday 17th October, as the highly anticipated Homecoming Ride presented by TAC returns to the iconic Phillip Island Circuit for its third year.

Motorsport legend Mick Doohan will be the star of the show this year, giving fans a rare opportunity to ride alongside the five-time 500cc World Champion, 30 years on since his first championship victory.

The journey begins in San Remo, where participants will gather and ride together as one, before making their way to the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.

The group will then enjoy the unique experience of completing a lap and a half of the world-renowned circuit, a track where Doohan claimed an unforgettable victory in 1998.  

The Homecoming Ride attracted over 400 riders in previous years, and has been popular with local residents who lined the road and cheered riders on as they embarked on their journey to the circuit.
