Phillip Island circuit's Turn 4 named after Jack Miller

Saturday, 15 October 2022

The Australian currently sits fifth in the standings.

Australian MotoGP™ rider Jack Miller has been honoured with a corner named after him at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.

Announced at Phillip Island ahead of Sunday’s Animoca Brands Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix 2022, the Miller Corner is at Turn 4 of the picturesque oceanside circuit.

Miller joined the Moto3™ paddock in 2012, spending three years in the category and narrowly missing a World Championship title in 2014.

He then jumped directly to the MotoGP™ grid in 2015, scoring his first race win in the category the following season. Miller has a total of four wins and 22 podiums in the premier class and finished fourth in the 2021 Riders’ Championship in his best season so far.

Ten years on from his first Moto3™ race and in the midst of a successful 2022 campaign, Miller has become a fan favourite; the Miller Army in their eye-catching orange take over Turn 4 at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit during MotoGP™ weekend, making the naming of Miller Corner even more symbolic.

Miller currently sits 5th in the 2022 MotoGP™ Championship standings, 40 points behind Championship leader Fabio Quartararo and with three rounds remaining in the season.

The Animoca Brands Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix 2022 takes place at 2:00 pm on Sunday, 16th October.
